ULALUME, their first album, was released in August. The name was given after Edgar Allan Poe’s poem Ulalume, which is about the loss of a beautiful woman who died in a grey October. The twins’ soft voices soften the album’s dark and haunted atmosphere. The string instruments and the percussion are present in nearly every song on the record; at times the voices seem to be purpose and beautifully out of sync with the melodies, and it doesn’t compromise on the record’s quality at all.
